Hi Basil, thanks for the compliment and the comment. Iquitos, surrounded by water, no roads. Lots of boat builders. I kept my best boat builders in my company, and keep them busy. I know a good dependable, honest boat builder named Irvin, that might be persuaded to build a simple wooden boat, local colectivo style, with a palm thatch roof, 35 feet long for $3000-$3,500, depending on details, finishing touches, type of seating, lock boxes, trim, etc. He works in Belen, speaks great English, French, and Spanish. Doesn't need supervising. Good guy. Lots of boat builders here, plenty will do it cheaper, but not many can build a better boat.

Very attractive cruise boats! My son David is a licensed Captain (small boats) and owns business in FLA as Shipwright.
Friends in Belem (missionaries) have asked help in designing and BUILDING a small river boat. Can't afford the luxurious type that you build, show, and use!

Wish to correspond with someone re: designs, materials, local labor, etc. Thanks much for ANY suggestions. BB.

Hey guys, welcome to the Captains blog, for me it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to make a comment about DAWN ON THE AMAZON TOURS AND CRUISES. I studied to be a Computer Professor for 05 years, I couldn`t get a job in my profession because it is very hard to get one in Iquitos, but I got a job with DAWN ON THE AMAZON. I have been with them for 04 months. Since I came here I noticed how superior the services and safety are on our boats. All our boats are insured, and we care about our guests. We try to make you feel at home. Our cruises are personalized, and you get a lot of benefits. I recommend you to join our adventure and enjoy the best way to see our jungle.
